 When speaking to your loved one, reading documentation for CSC or viewing our blogs, you will run into terminology which may be unfamiliar to you.

The following glossary will help you understand common terms:

1 Bar = Correctional staff (CX 1)

2 Bar = Correctional Staff (CX2)

4 Bar = Keeper, Unit Manager, Supervisors

514 Form = Cell Effects Sheet

ACP = Assistant Commissioner, Policy

ATIP = Access to information

AW= Acting Warden

AWCP = Acting Warden Correctional Programs

AWI = Acting Warden Information

AWMS = Acting Warden Management Systems

CAC = Citizen Advisory Committee

CCRA = Corrections & Conditions Release Act

CCRR = Corrections & Conditions Release Regulations

CD = Commissioners Directives

CP = Correctional Plan

CPU = Correctional Plan Update

CO = Correctional Officer or Guard

CON = Prison/Jail Inmate

CSC = Corrections Service Canada

DR = Director, Research

EXCOM = Executive Committee

IPSO, SIO = Security Intelligence Officer

HOLE = Segregation, Administrative Segregation

NEC = National Executive Committee

NHQ = National Headquarters

PFV = Private Family Visits

PO = Parole Officer

RDC = Regional Deputy Commissioner

RHQ = Regional Headquarters

JACK = Telephone

VI = Visit

VRB = Visiting Review Board
