Hamilton-Wentworth Detention Centre (also known as Barton Jail) is a maximum security Provincial jail built in 1978 and houses 560 adult male offenders in both remanded and sentenced custody. In 2015 Barton Jail was approved for $6 million worth of upgrades to the existing facility.

How can I schedule
a visit?
First come first serve, you do not have to be on a list
Visitation Information:
Length of visit: 20 minutes
Number of visits per week: 2
Number of visitors per visit: 2 adults and 1 baby
Can I drop off money when I visit: $60 (cash or cheque)
