Quinte Detention Centre is a provincial correctional facility located in Greater Napanee, Ontario. The facility was constructed in 1970 and opened in 1971. It replaced several smaller county jails in the surrounding region and became an important detention facility for Eastern Ontario. The centre houses people awaiting trial, sentencing, or transfer, as well as individuals serving short provincial sentences. Its capacity has increased significantly over the years. Ontario is currently expanding the facility by adding 91 beds, which will bring its total capacity to more than 300 inmates.

How can I schedule a visit to Quinte Detention Centre?

Call ahead to find out visiting hours.  First come first serve you do not have to be on a list, however arrive at least 30 minutes early to the Quinte Detention Centre. All visits must be pre-booked and are scheduled in half hour blocks up to seven days in advance.
