Edmonton Institution for Women is a 167 bed, minimum, medium and maximum Federal penitentiary for exclusively adult female inmates.  Built in 1996 the Edmonton Institution for Women is the largest exclusively female penitentiary in Alberta.

Do I need to be on an Incarcerated persons visitors list? 

Yes, visiting application form must be filled out.  If there are children visiting then a child waiver application must be filled out for the child as well.

All visits must be booked at least 48 hours in advance.  To book a visit call Monday - Friday between 8:00AM and 4:00PM
