Receiving Calls From Regional Reception Centre (also known as RRC)

The Regional Reception Centre (also known as RRC) is located on the same property as Archambault Institution.  The Regional Reception Centre was built in 1973 and serves as an assessment unit which can accommodate upto 288 adult male offenders.  An assessment unit is where most inmates will spend between 3 to 6 months being evaluated until being sent to the institution where they will serve most of their time.

How can I receive collect calls from Regional Reception Centre (also known as RRC)?

FedPhoneLine provides a phone number that your incarcerated friend or loved one can call. The call is then connected to the phone number associated with your FedPhoneLine account (your homephone or cellphone).

How does FedPhoneLine work?

1. Create your FedPhoneLine account.
2. Select the appropriate Regional Reception Centre (also known as RRC) calling plan.
3. After you register, FedPhoneLine will provide your FedPhoneLine number and password by email.
4. Give your FedPhoneLine number to your incarcerated friend or family member. Depending on the institution, the FedPhoneLine number may be active immediately or the number will need to be approved by the Institution first.
5. Your incarcerated friend or family member calls the FedPhoneLine number, and the call rings on your phone.
6. Select the GREEN button above to sign up for a FedPhoneLine number.

How much does it cost to receive calls from Regional Reception Centre (also known as RRC)?

Traditional long-distance collect calls can be significantly more expensive, and rates can vary depending on the facility and calling destination.  Without a FedPhoneLine number, some collect calls may cost up to $5.00 per minute depending on your location.

I have a FedPhoneLine account. What number does my loved one at Regional Reception Centre (also known as RRC) call?

Your incarcerated loved one calls the FedPhoneLine number provided to you after you register. The call is then connected to the phone number associated with your FedPhoneLine account.

What happens if my loved one is transferred to another facility?

If your incarcerated friend or loved one is transferred to another facility, you can switch your FedPhoneLine number to the new facility. FedPhoneLine allows you to make this change for free.

Do I need to be on an incarcerated person's visitor list?

Yes, visiting application form must be filled out.  If there are children visiting then a child waiver application must be filled out for the child as well.

How can I schedule a visit?

Visits must be booked at least 24 hours prior to visitation, between 9:30 and 11:30 and 1:30 and 3:30PM. 

 Visitation Information

• Length of visit: You can stay for the entire duration of the visit between 9:30AM until 12:00PM and 1:00PM until 3:30PM.
• Number of visits per week: An inmate can have up to 5 visits per month.
• Number of visitors per visit: 3 adults
• Money drop-off: Cheque or Money order by mail.  Cash can be left when you visit.
