Thunder Bay Jail is a provincial correctional facility located in Thunder Bay, Ontario. It first opened in 1928, making it almost 100 years old. The jail is one of Ontario’s oldest provincially operated adult correctional facilities. It houses adult male inmates, including people awaiting court proceedings, sentencing, or transfer to other institutions. In 2019, the jail had an operational capacity of 142 inmates, although its original capacity was 103. The facility has maximum- and medium-security units and provides basic correctional services. Because of its age and growing capacity needs, Ontario has been developing a new Thunder Bay Correctional Complex to modernize correctional services in the region.
FedPhoneLine provides a phone number that your incarcerated friend or loved one can call. The call is then connected to the phone number associated with your FedPhoneLine account (your homephone or cellphone).
