Vanier Jail opened its doors in 2003. The provincial detention centre is a combined maximum security detention centre for 333 remanded offenders and a medium/maximum correctional facility for females sentenced to less than 2 years.

Visitors must call Vanier Jail between 8AM-8PM weekdays and reserve a visiting time. Visitors should call Vanier Jail before visiting to ensure the visit has not been cancelled. Arrive early for your visit.
